Years ago, I used to log into my UPS Account and request to hold the new iPhone at the nearby Customer Center.
On release day, I'd just head to the CC and pick up the phone at 8AM instead of waiting around for the UPS truck, which would invariably show up at like 5PM.
Does this method still work or have they stopped entertaining this?
I have moved to a different town since I did those last. I forget how to figure out which Customer Center is applicable to your delivery area. Any tips?

Yes, you have to either call UPS Customer Support or send an email to UPS to request a UPS CC. UPS has intentionally removed that feature on the "Change Delivery" Section. You just have to get the right person. Some will say that due to Apple's restriction they won't able to do it till after 1st attempt. Some will do it without giving you grief.
I requested mine to be held to be picked up at UPS CC via e-mail on Sunday and got a response on Monday that they put in a hold for pick up per my request. YMMV.
Good luck

Did you use the ‘Email UPS’ feature on the App (that makes you fill out a form) or was there an Email Address that you could share with me? I don’t think I’m able to locate an email address on the UPS app.

Also, before you do this check the hours of your UPS CC. Because of covid a lot of them have reduced their hours considerably. Instead of being open all day, mine is only open for a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the evening. I saw a post from someone else who said that his doesn’t even open until 5PM.
