Seats are tight, and especially and only this seat, IFE and the front seats personal tv box (since front row seat screen slide up from under the seat) blocked over 70% of my legroom. Absolutely horrible and uncomfortable. Apart from that terrible seat, the service was good, good food, and nice attendants. Also, the galley and bathrooms are super annoying.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2020/02/04 for Seat 23J

I can confirm, this seat (and also 23 A, B and K) have a very generous cut-out (more like a cabinet with shelves) in the bulk-head, which provides extra legroom equivalent to an exit row. I liked this feature and would use it again. The aisle seats (B, J) also allow a bit of "footsie" with the aisle space, because there is little traffic at the curtain blocking Business Class. (Only when the fight crew is beginning an Economy service is it busy there.) It is also true that these seats--like those in the exit row--are unusually narrow due to the space used up by the service tray and, oddly, the dumb entertainment system remote controller. Bad design. I am slim-hipped so I was not bothered, but then again I was not trying to get comfortable enough to sleep.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/11/06 for Seat 24J

Terrible seat for comfort, as mentioned several times the IFE box takes up around 1/3 of the footspace and was directly infront of my Right foot. Anyone over average height is going to feel cramped. It seems some A330-300 planes have this box on J / some on K etc.etc. - a bit of a lottery, when choosing. Also annoying after 12 hours is the bulkhead screens rotating through adverts / flight position etc. These may as well be lightbulbs switching on and off as the brightness varies - even with eyes closed trying to sleep you notice the light levels changing, no eyepatches anymore - next the bit of chocolate will get smaller!!

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/06/11 for Seat 23A

this was the "tightest" and worst seat i´ve ever had long haul. minimal legroom, very narrow width. all exceptionally claustrophobic. swiss take 50 eu´s extra for this "preferred" (???) seat. why?? the armrest can not be lifted making it impossible to get out when 22A is fully reclined without waking row in front. with 22A fully reclined it´s also impossible to use laptop or read. i´m not a particularly large person but i couldn´t pull table flat either. a horribly uncomfarotable flight. good crew and catering but will never fly swiss long haul again. returned in 23B...just as bad.

The aircraft seemed very noisy, the sound of air on the external fuselage. We travelled JFK, Zurich to Delhi, roundtrip in April 2019.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/03/25 for Seat 44k

Sufficient space and also the angle to lie is very good. Had the opportunity to lie down in the middle row because the plane was not fully booked. Unfortunately the armrests can't be stowed away completely, so it's hard to lie down!

Submitted by Cassidy M on 2019/01/21 for Seat 39E

The seat would not recline and there was not a lot of leg room even less when the person in front of you leans their seat back.Just for reference I am 5’5 and I had no room for my legs

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/10/02 for Seat 10A

Not a good seat for tall people. If you're taller than 6'3" you won't have enough room to fully extend in bed mode. The footwell is very small, and so the only tenable sleeping position is on the side with the knees bent. The personal counter and storage space is nice, but I will avoid this seat in the future.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/08/31 for Seat 5K

Seat 5K was great on my flights ZRH-YUL and YUL-ZRH. There is a cabin where they prepare food and a toilet behind you, but there is some distance so it was completely fine. I never noticed when someone went to the toilet, I never heard it flush. Swiss Business was great, good food (and good choice, vegetarian option from Hiltl, one of the best vegetarian restaurants in zurich!), the flight attendants were very friendly, plenty of legroom, comfortable fully reclinable seat, great in-flight entertainment system. Probably the best business seat if you want great views as you are in front of the wing. I really have no complaints.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/08/23 for Seat 5K

Honestly this seat is probably the best one in Business Class. Firstly the fact that its near the toilet does not affect this seat at all, I flew Zurich - New York and I couldn't hear a thing. This seat is in the isolated part of the Business Class which already makes it great and you have a huge arm rest/desk area to your left which gives the space and comfort to look out the window with zero troubles. Nobody next to you and honestly would be my #1 pick if I were to fly again.

Submitted by Avi S on 2018/08/11 for Seat 1D

All first class seqts are open suite, way too open to my liking. There is no privecy especially in middle seats which are dual and the barrier does not go high enough. In general, not the best first class experience compared to other good quality airlines

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/07/31 for Seat 42E

The "bad" seat in this row is actually 42G which has the dreaded electrical box on the ground. This will force you to share, if you are kind, the leg space with the person seating there. However I found that there is really a lot of space for your feet and you bag in front of this seat. It's very wide. Probably the best ground storage place in all of economy. The worst is the of centered screen. Because you are going from 4 to 3 seats, there are 4 screens in front of you, but non are exactly in front of any of the seats. If you don't use the screen, you won't mind. If you want to watch a movie, it's the screen slightly to you left. The screen slightly to your right belongs to 42F, a non existing seat.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/04/15 for Seat 25J

Beware about the odious electronic boxes in Y.They are not necessarily under the same seats at all rows! I had no box reducing my leg space at 25J (it was at 25K), but in row 24 it was the opposite. Go figure! As mentioned, armrests do not go fully up(again, go figure why!).Service has clearly deteriorated over thepast 10 or so years; not much to write homeabout these days.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/02/01

Terrible seat for J. Uncomfortable to sit in. No lumbar support. Absolutely no storage. One of the worst J seats I have ever sat in. Completely amazed and dissappointed from Swiss. Oddly, it was one of the more comfortable lie flats in sleeping position. But the very narrow space these seats have still encroached on a good sleep.I disagree with the negativity associated w row 5 as to noise. Experienced no external negativity. Much quieter than the main J cabin. Row 7 was much less private. If forced to fly this aicraft in J by yourself, go for one of the single A seats (The Throne). Not more comfortable, but tons of space. For couples, you need to use the 2 middle seats. Almost as much room.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/01/28 for Seat 38J

Very little leg room. Good recline. Armrests do not go all the way up which was my biggest complaint.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/01/09 for Seat 36J

These have got to be the SMALLEST seats I have flown in years. I am not a tall person @ 5'-7", but my legs were smack up against the seat in front. In addition, the seat in front of me was broken and was constantly reclined to the max (even during takeoff and landing). This presented a very uncomfortable overnight flight from JFK to Geneva. I strongly recommend flying a different airline

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/01/07 for Seat 23A

23a&b and j&k are fantastic seats as there is a cut-out in the bulkhead where you can fully extend your legs (22 d,e & g don't have this cut-out). The food and service on Swiss is always very good.

Submitted by Addison W on 2017/12/26 for Seat 27A

The seat was very comfortable, and I had enough room (until the person in front of me reclined). The in flight service (food, etc.) was really good. The plane had obviously been recently remodeled, and everything was very nice and functional. It's worth noting that if you're tall, the middle bathrooms are far better than the ones on each side.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/12/21 for Seat 29B

When I saw the seat attributed by Swiss, my first reaction was to think that the company was treating me well because I would have room for my legs.Unfortunately this seat appeared to be a nightmare because it is adjacent to 2 toilets. All night long on this totally crowded plane, I heard the people flushing the toilets, opening and closing the doors. From time to time, it was not smelling very good... And finally, as people were queuing to go to the toilet and standing in front of me, they were crushing my feet! It was impossible to sleep during this night flight while, usually, I sleep 3-4 hours. For the rest, the description given by seat guru is exact: no window, no storage, restricted width of the seat...

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/11/13 for Seat 38K

These seats are some of the smallest I have experienced on a full price airline. The seat was supportive but narrow and the legroom was not much. What the biggest problem was is the amount of recline that these seats have!! When the person in front of you reclines, the video screen is very close to your face and you almost cannot use the tray table to eat. Forget about any computer being used. Certainly getting out of your seat with the person in front of you reclined requires acrobatic skills and squeezing around an almost non existent space next to the armrest. Horrible. This plane still has an entertainment box between the seats taking up foot room.

Comparing with Thai business the plain felt more new. But we was not so satisfied. The chosen food was finished when they served me and my husband. As we were anoid my husband get one course from first class. The wifi was good but expensive should not be paying in business. Wine and service fine. Business was crowded. No space to work and have the paper and computer. Not able to charge the computer in a 7 hours flight

Very nice seat. Confortable and not noisy !!! The toilets and the galley are discret. I made a night flight Miami-Zurich and I slept very well ! And the view on the Engine is amazing !

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/08/25 for Seat 10K

Nitwithstanding an excellent service, this is a bad seat due to the vibration of the motors, being situated on the wing, especially on the bed position and during landing.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/08/09 for Seat 25J

I can clear up the controversy about the equipment storage box on this flight. It is exactly in between the two seats, directly under the armrest. See my photo. those who believe it is under one seat or the other is simply not looking at it straight on. All in all the placement of the box makes sense. although the economy seat is not spacious, it is certainly as comfortable as any other.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/07/11

Seat 34A barely reclined, 34B reclined average. The Problem was that the seats in front (33A, 33B) reclined excessively (great if you have These seats);the Screens were in our faces and as the armrest did not lift up entirely, it was impossible to get up without disturbing all around.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/06/24 for Seat 26K

Seats are narrow as the armrest is also the place for the remote control - not much space to move around or get comfortable. To add to it, the headphone jack is pretty much where you legs.Under the seat was the entertainment box so not much place for legs either.Entertainment system is nice.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/06/08 for Seat 41B

Space between seats is very tight. When seat 40B in front was in reclining mode I could barely get out to use the WC. Entertainment box forced legs to one side. Very noisy location. One of the worst seating experiences I have had. I am 5ft 8 in and weigh 180lbs not that big.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/06/06 for Seat 42D

42D has solid sidewalls rather than normal armrests, making the seat rather narrow. On the other hand, it has more legroom than a regular seat. It was uncomfortable for me so I made a trade with someone who was tall and thin.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/06/05 for Seat 29J

Very Bad seat. Near Washroom, you hearing the door and the flush. People standing always in front of you or on the side, waiting for the Washroom. No sleeping for the whole flight. Never again.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/05/04 for Seat 42G

Width of seats are poor, also for a normal 1.83m / 78kg grown person.Legroom was good. The seats where in poor condition eventhough the plane is only a bit more than 4 yrs old (HB-JHN). At some seats the recline whas not working. I had only mono-sound instead of stereo because one plug was out of order.Loved the more space in this row because of 3 seats. Was no problem for me that the screen is not right in front of the seat because of the 4-seat row in front.

Submitted by Tim P on 2017/04/15 for Seat 10A

Comfortable overall. However the footwell on these "throne" seats is a big trade off. I physically cannot turn my feet once they are in the well. Also felt very confined and claustrophobic in the flat positiion.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/04/10 for Seat good

Seat was fine. However no wifi for a 10 hour flight and they cut off alcohol in the middle of the flight because they said they might run out? Never seen that before in international business class. Plus the usual 2 hours of attention from attendants at the start of the flight and then 15 hours of not seeing one. Really poor service for what you're paying for. Would avoid in the future if I have the choice.

Row 45 seats recline a lot! Nobody behind you and all the toilet lines are up front...great seats actually! You have them marked red....thats just wrong.

Submitted by Adam R on 2017/03/17 for Seat 23K

23K (and 23J) is a very good seat with extra legroom created by a niche in the bulkhead. This niche is large and has an additional shelf in it. Both levels permit storage of bags during takeoff and landing, so the comment on the seat map that storage is impossible is not true (note - this feature is not present in 22D/E/G, and I am not sure about 23A/B). There were no mounts for bassinet in front of 23J or K. Also both seats have USB power supply in armrests, although mine did not work. By the way, non-bulkhead seats have USB power supply in their personal entertaiment systems.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/03/13 for Seat 24B

Very bad seat. There is very little leg space because of the entertainment system position. It is just placed under the front seat. Swiss Air charge this as paid seat, which is not at all acceptable.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/02/06 for Seat 22D

Worst international "Business Class" Seating of any major airline. Seats are cramped with no privacy compared to pod style seats.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/01/08 for Seat 25B

Overall an okay seat, not worth the additional fees for the 'premium economy' cabin SWISS offers. Careful, seat 25A has an IFE box under the seat that takes up some of the space. For being 6'2" I had enough space, and the flight I was on had a great crew.

I had a pleasant flight from Delhi to Zurich on board the A330 of Swiss. There is one problem related to the location of the seat and one is related to all business class seats. The problem is probably the same for all B business class and a few A business class seats: there is only one desk and very small storage for 2 people. You have 1/4 of the storage as the other A seats with no neighbours. The other problem is that it is very hard to move the chair in the position you want it to be. The entertainment system is very good, lots of languages available. The meal is pleasant and great choice for it. There is also a very nice service. I love Swiss, but they should modernise, hoping for the best with the triple 7.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/01/07 for Seat 42K

Daytime flight from Zürich to Montreal. Seat was was very comfortable, didn’t even feel the need to recline. Appreciated extra leg room. Possible downside could be the traffic to the lavatories, but wasn’t really disturbing after all. Very good food (for economy) and excellent service from the FAs.

Worst Business Class seat & experience I've ever had. They shouldn't even be able to call it Business Class... it's like Premium Economy compared to industry standard today. The seat was not a flat bed, it also puts right down on the floor & heats up uncomfortably. The lumbar supports move uncontrollably even when the massage function is not on & stick uncomfortably into your back even if you push it in as far as it can go. Food was dreadful & almost no choices. Really shocked this is called business class. Am at a loss, as travel globally for work & live in Zurich, so am often stuck using SWISS. Fortunately I can use Qatar Airways often. Avoid SWISS if you can; they're cost-cutting is killing them. Sad.

New York JFK- Zurich, Flight Lx17, A330, seat 6K. My first time flying business so I have a different perspective than most people. Plenty of legroom for people of all sizes (I'm only 5'10"), plenty of storage space in the seat, and the ac power outlets are perfect for laptop use. With that said, the armrest/table is on the window side of the seat, and thus the seat offers less privacy as compared to seat 7K. Overall a great seat but of questionable value compared to the a330's economy class on only a 7hr transatlantic flight.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2016/10/07 for Seat 4A

The even numbered "A" seats in business class, sometimes also referred to as "thrones", are all great. Ample space with two big armrests/tables and good privacy. The best of them is 4A as its located in the small anf therefore quietest part of the C-cabin. What I find a little awkward is that if fully flat, you lay almost on the floor of the cabin.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2016/09/25 for Seat 23D

23D gets ups and downs in the reviews. I had it for a little over 6 hours yesterday. I did not find it narrow or confining as others have and I am a 38 waist. My seat was not worn and all worked as it should. I did get bumped a few times with my feet stretched out and the 22E occupant was a bit miffed that could put my feet next to him. Anticipate the bumps and the bit of exposure during boarding and take this seat. By the end of the flight I was very glad I had chosen it.

I'm 5'6" and fit comfortably and grateful I wasn't taller. The panel light flashed on and off which was very distracting and altho the FA was notified, nothing was done. The missing window was not an issue. The seat behind me was rather close as I could smell feet, gross.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2016/09/20 for Seat 7D

Swiss have managed to squeeze the minimum space for business passengers of any airline... the footwell is only just big enough for 2 feet and because I am 6'6" tall, I cannot lie flat but neither can I lie comfortably with my knees bent.I have more comments on the service, but those are not appropriate here!

My last experience in Economy, ZRH-NBO was terrible due to the man in front of me that refused to move his seat up so i could get into my seat. I paid a LOT for a business class seat but i will be changing airlines. While the seat area is spacious, the location had no fresh air vents and was very stuffy and hot from the electronics area. The FAs were of no help and rude. They said it was the way the plane was and no one ever complained before although i listened to another passenger ask about the same issue. Also, the FAs stood in the galley in front of 6A the entire flight talking loudly about work, passengers and other topics. Even with the headset on,the talking was louder than the movie. I would not recommend seat 6A or Swiss business class service.

The mediabox under every second seat is a reason not to fly this plane. A person with long legs will have a very uncomfortable flight!! I will not book Swiss A330 again. taking advice from Seat Guru, I choose a seat on Swiss flight LX55 Boston to Zurich (and return) on Airbus A330-300 27A. Paid $49 extra as it is designated a "preferred" seat. The seat had an electrical box where my feet and bag should go under the seat in front of me. No electrical box in 27B occupied by a passenger who had NOT paid extra but got the seat on check-in. So, not paying extra gets you a better seat at the last minute.I noted other seats in this "preferred section" also had electrical boxes under their seats. I don't think this is good business. A330-very unpleasant. Seats recline too far back. Arm rest does not go all the way up. Difficult to get in and out of seat. Remote for entertainment was cumbersome on armrest with such a tight sqeeze. Worst flight ever. I'm dreading my flight back to the states and will avoid this particular series of planes in the future. Not accommodating for such a long flight.

This seat was not worth the extra money - it was basically the same as any other aisle seat in this section. Much better to get 23D, but another complaint said that seat left you vulnerable to crew movement coming through the curtain. On both of my flights, I felt the seat was too narrow, and I don't have a big butt. Additional legroom helps to compensate, however, on 23J. Flight attendants on SWISS have always been great. Food good.

From row 37 the A300 is narrowing. Up to row 39 there are 2 armrests between seats E and F. But in rows 40 and 41, the center seats (E, F) have only one shared armrest instead of 2, resulting in even lesser width. Moreover, between E and F the armrest cannot be moved and there is a solid separation between the seats, resulting in even more compression. Probably the most uncomfortable seat I ever had.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2015/12/25 for Seat 4A

This part of the cabin (rows 4 and 5) is probably the most quiet as there are only two rows. Inbetween row 5 and the galley is the pursers office, the galley is therefore far enough not to be bothersome. Also, due to the proximity to First Class, I highly doubt they would seat any children or babies in these rows.If you can, get one of those seats.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2015/11/28 for Seat 12G

Excellent seat. Please also note that whilst generally any seat with side table towards the aisle is better, and then single seats are better than twin, the middle twin seats between the aisles both have side tables and thus are more comfortable, than window-side twin seats that only have one side table in between.

My first long-haul flight (by Swiss) was unexpectedly pleasant the other day. There was enough leg room for an economy seat (I'm 6'1") plus I was lucky to not have anyone in the seat in front of mine, so even though it's a middle seat, I was able to comfortably spent the entire flight with my legs stretched out. The seat was also wide enough. I think the entertainment system box was under my seat, and I know that it wasn't under 38F but also there was one under (what I assume was) 38G so the person next to me had less width to stretch their legs.

Yes, it gets tight if the person in front of you reclines but this is economy! I would definately choose this airline because the service was wonderful. Food was great too!

Sharp-edged, sharp-cornered entertainment equipment box takes half foot/leg room! Charging adults full-fare for these seats is unconscionable. Knee room less that that of Fokker 100. Incredibly uncomfortable for a 7 hour flight. Appears to be quick, cheap solution at economy passengers expense. Will look for another airline for next trip.

Swiss business is almost allways a great choice....the service and food are a delight,Technology in the plane & entertaiment system in this plane has had its peak about 15 years ago- time for a renovation.

We had seats 28AB and felt comfortable with both the location and the seat itself. Close to the restrooms, but still quiet enough to get some sleep. Recline was standard. At 6'0", I didn't have any problems with the legroom at all.. Food was average though as there was no return catering and the food was american quality (=very bad).

Excellent seat as it is in the smaller, more quiet compartment of C-Cl. VERY comfortable seat with lie-flat bed if fully reclined. Service was excellent and the food/wine was delicious - as expected. Easy aisle access, good storage room and close to the restroom. only negative point is the small tv, otherwise this seat (and LX longhaul business class in general) is fantastic.

The seat was pleasant and it was in a much more private part of the cabin. The seat didn't prove bothersome at all, and was actually quite comfortable. I enjoyed my flight greatly, this seat was pleasant and enjoyable.

Seat 23 B is very uncomfortable because there is limited legrom due to the wall in front and there are no "normal" armrests but instead of metal walls on the left and on the right side of the seat. I felt really squeezed into the seat.

Media unit under the front seat, there is absolutely no space for the right leg. Selling this seat to an adult person is a joke!

One of the narrowest, most cramped seats I have ever seen in 40 years of flying. Entertainment box under 26a restricts width of all B foot spaces. Entering and exiting the seat is so tight it is very difficult. I am 5'7" and 150 pounds, I have no idea how taller and heavier people can fit in these seats. I will never fly this route with Swiss again. This whole economy class is way too uncomfortable.

People waiting in line for toilet putting their butts in your shoulder, carts bunping into your should when coming from behind

as someone said before: these are the best seats in business class, and if you have a seat in the aisle make sure you have the wide armrest, then you are sitting just perfect.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2015/02/18 for Seat 23D

Seat width is extremely narrow due to tray table, LCD screen and operating unit crammed in left armrest. No seat in front allows to stretch legs, which is dangerous because feet are directly behind the curtain to the business class section, in the middle of the aisle, and invisible to crew shuttling between sections. Swiss asks a hefty prize for a seat, that cannot be recommended. Seat must be popular though, because mine has been worn into a trough.

Flew this plane from Miami to Zurich on 12/22/14. The service and food was outstanding as we had heard. However, the seats were disappointing. The cushions were very hard and narrow seats even for Biz Class. 11A was even worse since not enough room between it and the interior of the aircraft and window. feels very claustrophobic. There are just too many seats in Biz class and felt very cramped.

this is the best business class seat having 2 tables and more space.

The seats in the first row of Economy (Row 23) are shown on the seat map as a more expensive choice supposedly because of extra comfort. I ended up in 23B, and the sear has less width than the rest, if an infant is alocated beside you then a cradle will be possitioned in front of you (and imagine all the come and go action during a 7 hours flight). 23B was not worth the extra money I paid for it and the clasification of this seat is missleading.

Any aisle seats in row 31-34 may have to deal with passengers waiting for the lavatories, especially on overnight flights. The plane is not as comfortable at the A-340.

This is one of the better seats in business, but the best ones for people with very long legs (like me, close to 2 m) the rows 4 and 6 are top seats.

The last seat in this plane is actually pretty decent. The seat reclines a lot, there is nobody behind you pulling on the seat when they get up, and all of the lavatories are in the front of the coach section which means very little traffic in this area. In addition the galley is actually in a T shape with most of the activity deep in the back of the plane. I had zero issue with noise or with ability to sleep. The yellow rating is very misleading.

I just finished a 10 hour flight in this seat and I must say that I have been flying long distance for about 40 years this was THE WORST seat I have ever had. Very little leg room and I don't think it was particular to my seat. When the person in front of me inclined his seat the video screen was unwatchable as itg was about 15 cm below my eye level. Being in the rear seat it does not incline like most other seats. To top it off I checked-in early at Singapore stating I had not much time in Zurich to get a flight to Heathrow. This was the best they could do, last row! I think the only person with a worse seat was the poor bloke next to me in the middle seat!

Nice not having anyone behind us. Not bothered by the close proximity to bathroom. Great entertainment system. Comfortable seats and headrests. Quieter section with fast service.

The Economy section is VERY cramped; the plane had many empty seats in First and Business. Swiss has made a decision that penalizes many customers.

Awkward 4 seat to 3 transition makes seatback screen misaligned with seat and harder to view.

SWISS business class single seats in Row A are great, since one is on their own, plus they also have much more room (e.g. 2 ample arm rests/tables of each side).

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2013/08/20 for Seat 23B

Seat 23B has thick armrests on both sides housing the folding tables of 23A and 23B making it a very narrow seat. In addition, the remote for the VOD system is housed in the armrest on it's inner part, thus reducing even more the width of the seat.Only plus side to this seat is it enables quick exit upon arrival.
