The Googan Squad Has Inspired Me (2024)

Every since I was little, I have always loved fishing. Every single aspect of fishing intrigues me. From the first cast to changing lures to packing up and going home. I had always gone saltwater fishing before and never knew the joys of bass fishing. My brother-in-law decided it would be a good idea to fish in the pond by my house, although I thought there was no fish in there. We fished for awhile and nothing happen. I began to loose faith but after a little more time I finally felt a tug on my pole and then a bass jumped out of the water. I reeled it in, finally caught my first bass and was hooked.

After I caught my fish I was eager to catch more. I wanted to learn anything and everything to do with bass fishing. I went on Youtube and started to watch videos, learning about different lures and fishing tactics for bass fishing. I started to buy the basic bass lures and as I fished more and more I bought even more stuff. Now I have enough lures for a whole family.

As I was watching more and more videos I stumbled across a channel called LunkersTV. He was very informative and made bass fishing very interesting. I then learned about the rest of the googan squad and started to watch all their videos as well. They were not only entertaining but they were inspring as well. They have all inspired me and helped me to be a better person and fisherman.

The Googan Squad is nonetheless a group of Youtubers that usually fish for bass. The group consist of Robert Terkla (LunkersTV), Jonathan Barzacchini (Jon B.), Michael Hsiao (1rod1reelfishing), Andrew Flair (Andrew Flair Outdoors/ fishing_with_flair), and Alex Peric (apbassing). They all live in different parts of the United States but visit and fish with each other often.

Rob was the first person of the group that I started to watch on Youtube. I started to watch his videos to learn different skills and techiques for fishing. I never thought that I would have contined to watch his videos but his character and ways of thinking intriuged me and evenually taught me some life lessons. Rob is the type of person to not care what others think. He does whatever he wants to without worrying about anyone around him.

He is very calm and has a good head on his shoulders. He has influenced my way of thinking and made me realize that I can do anything I want and not have to worry about other people and there negative comments and bad vibes.

Jon B. is another member of the googan sqaud that has helped me grow as a person. Jon is all about perserverence. He started his channel seven years ago when not many anglers watched. Even though no one watched him before, he kept making videos an now has over 360,000 subcribers. Anything that comes his way whether it is with fishing or life in general he always has the will to push through and do whatever it takes to get to a good end result.

Jon B also shows perserverence through his logo “keep fishing, never stop”. Not only does this apply to fishing, it applys to our lives as well. It has taught me that even though bad things happen you should not stop the good things. You have to go through the situation and push foward to greatness.

Michael, from 1Rod1ReelFishing, is another goon from the googan squad. He is very optomistic and always looking to the bright side of bad situations. He also is very kind and gets along with everyone he meets and goes on adventures with. He loves to be around people and teach his subcribers his tactics and lures he uses. People love to watch his videos for the content but also for his positive attitude towards life and everything he does.

Michael’s positivity has taught me to deny negativity and look forward to greater things. He has also influenced me by helping me and showing me how to react to negative people. It is better to ignore those specific individuals and surround yourself with people that can life you up and not bring you down.

Flair is a very laid back, goofy person. He always has a good time whether he is by himself or with other people. He likes to go fishing with his subcribers and have a good time even if he catches small fish, which is all the time.

Life is not all about rules and regulations, it is good to have fun too. Flair is a very good representation of that. Fishing isn’t about all these super complicated techniques and crazy lures, it is about the easy, relaxed fishing tactics that work best. It is a way to have a good time and enjoy yourself while also catching awesome fish. When I watch his videos I forget about everything else around me and entertain myself with his content. He has taught me to enjoy life and live in the moment.

Peric is the final member in the googan squad. He is all about embracing the weird in people and himself. He is hyper, talkative, sometimes aggresive and very awkward. Many people think that Peric is obnoxious or weird but that is just how he is. I like his personality and how he acts because it is entertaining and shows me that it is okay to be a little weird sometimes. Everyone has a werid side to them and he isn’t ashamed to be himself, even though he gets made fun of all the time.

He has taught me to just be myself no matter what others think. Everyone in the world is unique and like different things, this does not make a person unusal or unworthy.
