What is the difference between UPS and UPS Access Point? ›

The UPS Store: Multiple, wide-ranging services. UPS Access Point: Drop-off or pickup at local businesses. UPS Drop Boxes: For 24/7 drop-off. UPS Customer Centers: On-site UPS operating facility.

If you're unavailable when UPS attempts delivery at your address, UPS may deliver your package to a UPS Access Point^® location near your home, where your package will be held for you to pick up for 7 calendar days.

Customers can head over and pick up their deliveries whenever it's convenient for them. Our dedicated team will even alert you when your package is ready for pickup - all you need to do is bring your ID that matches the delivery information, and you'll be good to go.

You cannot drop off a UPS package at a USPS station. Nor can you ask USPS pickup for a UPS package. You can only use USPS pick-up or stations for products being shipped via US Postal Service. United Parcel Service is NOT the same as US Postal Service.

Choose your delivery location as a UPS Access Point™ at the time of ordering your goods. UPS handles delivery from supplier to elected UPS Access Point. Provide proof of identity to collect your parcel. Notification sent and your parcel awaits to be collected at a time convenient to you.

Is UPS Access Point® safe? Yes. UPS Access Point® locations are secure and safe. They are usually located inside local businesses, grocery stores, and other retail outlets to ensure package security.

Instead of having a package delivered to your home or business address, you can select a Pickup Location. You can choose to deliver eligible packages to Pickup Locations such as Amazon Lockers, Amazon Counter, or UPS AccessPoints™ Locations.

The estimated total pay range for a Access Point Representative at UPS is $47K–$72K per year, which includes base salary and additional pay.

If you're unavailable when UPS attempts to deliver your package, you may need to visit their pickup location to get your package. UPS will redirect your package to the nearest UPS Access Point® in your home.

How long will UPS hold a package at Access Point? ›

Can you hold my packages while I'm away? Yes, if you're a UPS My Choice member, The UPS Store and other UPS Access Point locations can hold your package for up to seven calendar days at no additional charge. UPS Customer Centres can hold your package for up to five business days.

UPS may make up to three delivery attempts at its discretion at your address on regular UPS delivery days. After the final attempt, undeliverable parcels will be returned to the sender. To prevent your parcel from being returned or to make alternate delivery arrangements, track your parcel.

This happens a lot. Your package will be given to UPS when they drop off packages for USPS to deliver, which is usually daily at most post offices. It is the same if you accidently drop off a FedEx shipment.

Hold for Pickup is a service that allows mailpieces to be held at a designated Post Office location for pick up by a specified addressee or designee rather than have a carrier attempt delivery. Mailers can request this service when they purchase postage for eligible items with select methods.

Transit times

This is a 1-2 day service. Most parcels take just 1 working day to be delivered. Each UPS Access Point™ has a daily collection from UPS (excluding weekends). The collection time for each UPS Access Point™ can be found here.

Note: UPS drop-off only locations and USPS drop boxes can't scan a QR code. You'll need to bring it to your nearest UPS Store or USPS Post Office.
