It's time to take a look at the standout high school performers from Summit County for last week.

Your vote will determine who will be the Summit County High School Athlete of the Week for May 27-June 2. We will pick one girl and one boy. Each athlete's credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 5 p.m. Thursday. The winners will be announced Friday morning on BeaconJournal.com.

Here's a look at the girls nominees, in alphabetical order:

Jayla Atkinson, Stow track and field

Won the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.51 at the Division I state track meet Saturday in Dayton. She also anchored the Bulldogs' eighth-place 3,200-meter relay (9:19.22).

Marissa Boone, Woodridge track and field

Ran the first leg of the Bulldogs' state champion 3,200-meter relay (9:15.05) and their third-place 1,600 relay (3:58.80), in addition to placing fifth in the 800 meters (2:14.83) and 11th in the 1,600 meters (5:09.40).

Tianna Burton, Buchtel track and field

Ran the second leg of the Griffins' state championship 800-meter relay (a state-meet record 1:39.01) and anchored their second-place 400 relay (48.33) Saturday at the Division II state track meet in Dayton.

Morgan Hallett, Norton track and field

Won state championships in both throwing events Saturday at the Division II state track meet in Dayton, throwing the discus 152 feet, 2 inches and putting the shot 44-0, giving her six individual state track titles in a storied high school career.

Renee Morgan, Hudson lacrosse

Scored five goals and had an assist Thursday in a 19-4 win over Magnificat in a Division I regional final. Also had five goals Tuesday in a 17-4 victory over Stow in a regional semifinal.

Here's a look at the boys nominees, in alphabetical order:

Lane Conway, Twinsburg baseball

In addition to handling the catching duties, had a double in each regional game as the Tigers advanced to the Division I state semifinals. He had a double and an RBI Friday in a 6-3 win over North Canton Hoover in a regional final after collecting a single, double and RBI Thursday in a 6-0 regional semifinal win over Wooster.

Trevin Jordan, Copley track and field

Put the shot 62 feet, 1¼ inches to place second at the Division I state track meet Saturday in Dayton. He also threw the discus 154-4 to place 11th.

Caden McClure, Green track and field

Cleared 16 feet to win the pole vault at the Division I state track meet Saturday in Dayton.

Markeise Smith, Garfield track and field

Set a personal record by clearing 6 feet, 10 inches for a runner-up finish in the high jump at the Division I state track meet Saturday in Dayton.

Josh Stalnaker, Twinsburg baseball

Had two singles and scored two runs Friday in a 6-3 win over North Canton Hoover in a Division I regional final. Also pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts Thursday in a 6-0 win over Wooster in a regional semifinal.
